French Bureau

Found this beauty and could not wait to get her home to paint.
I chose Duck Egg and Old Ochre.
She`s a  solid piece of vintage Thomasville furniture dated 1967 on back.
She`s a beauty.

I`m lucky all her original hardware was tuck away in the drawers and they suit her so well. She`s a beauty for sure!

  19. I'm doing bedroom furniture in Ochre and Duck egg and have found that the dark wax looks too dark on my piece for what I'm going for. I tried lightening it up with the clear but still too dark tone in the brown. i have some latex in Berh's Cafe Latte but didn't know if you could mix a latex with the clear wax like you can mix in the ASCP with the wax. I also tried a 1/2 & 1/2 wash with Coco but that just seemed to darken the ochre. What did you use on this piece and do you have any suggestions for me?

    1. I am so sorry as I just seen this question. I used clear and dark wax, Annie Sloan. I spent alot of hours on waxing this piece. I clear wax first then dark wax and clear wax more then minimal sanding and lots of buffing.
